We are the League of United Latin American Citizens also known as LULAC.

We are one of the oldest and largest civil rights organizations in the United States.

We are an organization that is adamant about creating a space for Hispanic and Latine students to feel safe and welcomed at SFASU

Our Mission

"The mission of the League of United Latin American Citizens is to advance the economic condition, educational attainment, political influence, housing, health and civil rights of the Hispanic population of the United States and Puerto Rico."

Here at Stephen F. Austin State University we strive to build a community that advocates and uplifts it's members and supporters. We also work to build a safe environment for members to feel comfortable to learn & grow.

Brief Council #22351 History

January 15, 2018

On this date our council was founded and established here at SFASU. Since then we have celebrated 5 years of being a council.

Spring 2019

In Spring of 2019 our council won the Texas State & National Young Adult Council of the Year for a second time.

August 2022

In this month our council was re-established and since our re-establishment we now have 61 amazing members!
